Christine Anu is one of Australia’s most popular recording artists and performers of all time who uses her voice and reputation to spread a message of unity and hope. A multi-ARIA Award winner, she is renowned for her APRA AMCOS Award-winning song “My Island Home,”. With her platinum album Stylin’ Up, she is recognised for having one of the country’s most enduring and distinctive voices.
Her acclaimed three-decade career spans across all forms of media including music, theatre, dance, film, television, radio, children’s entertainment, and one of the most influential keynote speakers. Her broad range of achievements include platinum-selling solo albums, acting in Hollywood blockbusters such as Moulin Rouge and The Matrix – Reloaded, performing in the hit sell-out musicals Rent and Little Shop of Horrors, and featuring roles in high-profile TV shows The Alice and Outland. Over the years, Christine has been central to a number of memorable historic moments, with her performance of My Island Home at the Sydney 2000 Olympics Closing Ceremony a notable standout. Many Australians consider Christine’s My Island Home as the unofficial Australian National Anthem
Christine has and will always be proud of her Torres Strait Islander heritage and at any given opportunity will use her public profile as a platform to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and others from marginalised backgrounds. Anu is a prominent voice of multicultural Australia and in 2016 was appointed host of the Evenings ABC radio program and now presents her own national radio show on ABC Radio every Friday and Saturday.
When speaking to Anu about her proudest career moments, she speaks of becoming a mother to her two children and mentoring her daughter Zipporah as an entertainer in her own right. Christine and Zipporah have naturally taken the stage together and in 2019 they performed at the Women’s NRL Grand Final.
Christine released her much-anticipated album ‘Waku – Minaral A Minalay in August, 2024.
Waku- Minaral A Minalay is, unquestionably, the most important work of Christine’s career to date. Thanks to his granddaughter, Nadi’s legacy continues.
Australia’s newest leading lady, Abigail Adriano has just completed the Australian and Asian tours of Miss Saigon to rave reviews. Her portrayal of KIM saw her awarded Best Newcomer at the Sydney Theatre Awards.
Represented by T&E Management she began her performance training at the age of 6 with her passion for singing leading her to study both classical and contemporary under the guidance of Peter Bodnar.
Abigail’s first theatrical experience was in Tim Minchin’s Matilda the Musical in the role of Alice. Recently she was a headliner for the Do You Hear The People Sing concerts in Manila singing the music of both Miss Saigon and Les Misérables.
On the small screen, Abigail played the co-leading role of Rose in the Netflix/ABC television series The Unlisted. She also appeared on The Voice Kids Australia and has worked on numerous advertising campaigns.
She is thrilled to be returning to the stage once more in Hadestown.
In 2019 Noah made his professional debut in the Opera Australia/GWB world tour of West Side Story in the lead role of Riff. The production played at the Sydney Opera House as well as touring Australia, New Zealand and Germany. In 2020 Noah performed his first Cabaret show, a collection of songs and stories of his life as an expat kid living in Paris and San Diego and his love of theatre, the show debuted at Claire’s Kitchen on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst. He also achieved the role of Cy/ Jamie Understudy in the West End Award Winning, AUS/NZ Tour of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie! 2020/2021; which was sadly cancelled due to Covid.
Noah was thrilled to return to the stage in 2021, reprising his role in West Side Story and to then be cast in the original Australian cast of Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill (GWB Entertainment) which toured nationally throughout 2022. In 2023 Noah played Jean-Michel in La Cage Aux Folles (Showtune Productions) for the Sydney and Melbourne seasons and toured NSW as Banjo in Banjo Patterson (Got Ya Back Productions). Most recently Noah starred as Mark in the acclaimed Australian tour of RENT the Musical for LPD Productions.
At the tender age of 16 Elenoa was plucked from the Australian International Performing Arts High School (AIPAH) to star in Respect: The Musical in 2007.
Elenoa’s credits include: Billie Holiday in Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill (STCSA/Belvoir/MTC), Joanne in Rent (Sydney Opera House), Nellie Small in Send for Nellie (Sydney Festival), Susan in Tick, Tick…BOOM! (Storeyboard Entertainment), Cynthia Weill in Beautiful the Carole King Musical (Matt Ward Entertainment), Fay Apple in Anyone Can Whistle and Well Behaved Women (Hayes Theatre),The Wife in The Things I Could Never Tell Steven (NToP), Betty Blokk-Buster Follies Reimagined (Redline Productions), The Book of Mormon (GFO), Reno in Dusty (TPC), The Fortune Teller in Side Show (One Eyed Man Productions), Ghost (ATG), Violet (Blue Saint Productions), Legally Blonde (GFO), Hairspray (DCE/David Atkins), Fame (GFO), Taylor in High School Musical Onstage (Disney) and Chanteuse (Adelaide Cabaret Festival). Elenoa was also featured in the Baz Lurhmann film The Great Gatsby.
In 2019 Elenoa was seen as Caroline Thibodeaux in the acclaimed Caroline, Or Change (Hayes Theatre Company) for which she was awarded Best Female Actor in a Leading Role for both the Sydney Theatre Awards and the GLUG Awards.
Opera singer, concert performer, music educator, director and producer, Adrian Tamburini most recently won his second Green Room Award for his performance of Hagen in Wagner’s, Götterdämmerung. In 2017, Adrian won Australia’s prestigious singing award, the Australian Opera Awards (YMF, MOST). His singing has featured on cinema releases of opera, DVD, international recordings, motion picture soundtracks, radio, and television. He has worked with companies such as Opera Australia, Pinchgut Opera, Victorian Opera, West Australian Opera, Melbourne Opera, Lost and Found Opera, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Zelman Symphony Orchestra, Sydney University Graduate Choir, Melbourne Bach Choir, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Canberra Symphony Orchestra and Inventi Ensemble. Over the past few years, he has focused on sharing his passion for music by teaching the next generation of musicians at Pure Harmony Music Studio in Melbourne. In recent years, Adrian has championed new Australian works and world premieres including Jane Hammond’s The Spare Room, Nicholas Buc’s Origins, Chistopher Bowen’s Redfern Oratorio and Luke Styles’ No Friend but the Mountains. Adrian has worked with renowned international conductors and directors but is most proud to have worked with Australians Jessica Cottis, Erin Helyard, Barry Kosky, Bruce Beresford, and John Bell.
Fresh from closing the Australian tour of &Juliet as Lady Capulet, Sarah feels like it’s fate that she’s going way down to Hadestown. Some of her credits include Les Misèrables, Candide, Shrek the Musical, NINE, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, HOSH Phantom of the Opera, Lizzie!, Bonnie & Clyde, Jekyll & Hyde, The Lovers, Well Behaved Women and most recently with Sydney Cabaret, hosting the 5 star reviewed Sunday Service.
Jennifer Trijo is a Filipino multi-disciplinary artist. Her theatre credits include: Baruska (accordion) in Once (DTC| BSSTC | HOTA); Janelle Woods and Shirelle in Beautiful – the Carole King Musical (MWE); Ms. Mendoza in The Deep North (SAPT); Hua Mulan, Pocahontas, and Badroulbadour in Disenchanted (MAT); and Kim in the Miss Saigon Australian tour (LWAA). She has composed approximately 100 original songs, was a 2024 Finalist in the APRA Professional Development Awards (Music Theatre), and won a 2024 Green Room Award for Best Artist Ensemble in Commercial Music Theatre. As a multi-instrumentalist, she has performed at OzAsia, Adelaide Fringe, and Sydney Fringe. Her print modelling credits include Colorbond and Krondorf Wines. Jennifer is a proud member of the MEAA.
Hailing from Cairns, Imani graduated from Central Queensland University with a Bachelor in Creative Arts in 2020. She made her professional debut in the Original Australian Company of Jagged Little Pill(GWB) as Therapist/Ensemble and Frankie Cover in 2021. She recently finished the Australian and Singaporean tour of the pop musical sensation & Juliet(Michael Cassel Group) where she played Lucy and covered the titular role of Juliet. Her passion for telling stories has led her through her career and she is ecstatic that she gets to help bring the story of Hadestownto Australia. Imani wants to thank her family for their ongoing support. She has been a proud MEAA equity member since 2021.
Born and raised in Melbourne, Eliza Soriano is a proud Filipina-Australian with a lifelong passion for the performing arts. She completed her training at the Australian Institute of Music with a Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre). Eliza is so thrilled and honoured to be making her professional debut with Opera Australia’s Hadestown. With this milestone, she dedicates each performance to her family, loved ones, and mentors who continue to support her.
Afua Adjei is poised to make her second professional musical appearance in “Hadestown” after a successful run as ‘Debbie’ in “Groundhog Day the Musical” earlier this year.
Based in Melbourne, Afua’s passion for musicals has driven her active involvement in the city’s amateur musical theatre scene. Her early training at Stage School Australia laid a strong foundation, equipping her with the skills to excel in the demanding world of musical theatre.
Afua is thrilled to be joining the Australian cast of “Hadestown” and stepping into the world of the underworld.
A graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts, Sam (he/him) is a Melbourne/Naarm based singer, actor, songwriter and musician.
Sam made his professional debut in the Australian/South East Asian tour of Disney’s Frozenwhere he understudied the roles of Kristoff, Olaf and Weselton.
He was most recently seen in LPD’s critically acclaimed production of RENT in which he understudied the role of Roger.
Other theatre credits include: Miss Saigon (Opera Australia), Rolling Thunder Vietnam (Blake Entertainment), ‘Gabe Goodman’ in Next to Normal (James Terry Collective),Bonnie and Clyde (JRP Australia), Scarlet – the concept recording (DHB theatrical) and The Adventures of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell in return to Pantoland (Bonnie Lythgoe productions).
Sam is thrilled to be a part of Hadestown and wants to thank Ian White Management for their continued support. He is also a proud MEAA member.
Iosefa is excited to be a part of this production and tell the story of Hadestown. Iosefa debuted professionally in the original Australian cast of Hamilton (Michael Cassel) and then additionally went on to join the original Hamilton International Company (Michael Cassel). His television work includes Wakefield (ABC) and commercials for Perfect Italiano and KFC. He graduated from Brent Street Academy of Performing Arts with a Diploma of Musical Theatre. Iosefa has been a proud member of MEAA since 2020.
Born in South Africa, Devon studied with Diverse Choreography (Dubai), The Boston Conservatory (USA), and Laine Theatre Arts (London), where he received the Eileen Rose Musical Theatre Cup.
Most recently, Devon appeared as Fred Casely in “Chicago” (XRoads Live). Other career highlights include: the original Australian Cast of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical” (Global Creatures) as Ensemble/Cover Lautrec/Santiago; “Chess: The Musical” (Storeyboard Ent.); Prinz Abdullah in “Aladdin” (Disney Theatricals, Germany); and Ensemble/Cover Eddie in the International Tour of “Mamma Mia” (NGM). Devon also appeared in the original London Palladium premiere of “Eugenius!” and “The Hired Man” at Cadogan Hall.
Television includes: “Sports Relief” (BBC); and “Saturday Night Takeaway” (ITV). He is immensely thankful to his friends, family, and teachers. Devon is represented by T&E Management.
Molly Bugeja is an electrifying triple threat Artist who proudly hails from Dharug Land/Western Sydney. Molly trained at ‘A-live Performing Arts Centre’ and ‘Village Performing Arts Centre’ and is a graduating member of the prestigious TDP (Talent Development Project).
Molly made her professional theatre debut in 2019, portraying Anybodys in the international touring production of West Side Story (Opera Australia, GWB, BB Group). Following this, she took on the roles of Dance Captain and Swing in A Chorus Line (Darlinghurst Theatre Company). Molly had the privilege of returning to West Side Story and A Chorus Line in 2021 and 2022 respectively, to reprise both roles for successful national tours. Since then, she has performed in the ensemble of the touring production of Mary Poppins (MCG) and reprised the role of Anybodys a third time to critical acclaim for Handa Opera’s West Side Story on Sydney Harbour in 2024.
Most recently Molly stepped into the iconic role of Beth March in Little Women at the Hayes Theatre (JRP Australia).
Jessie Monk is an artist from GunaiKurnai Land, Victoria. Based between Naarm and Berlin, Jessie graduated from the Victorian College of The Arts with a BFA in Music Theatre, where she received both the Lionel Gel and Ron and Margaret Dobell Awards. Jessie played Teenage Girl 1, in the Australian Premier of David Bowie’s Lazarus before moving to Israel to train in Gaga (contemporary dance) with Ohad Naharin and Batsheva Dance Company, eventually continuing on to Europe’s iconic, Berlin. Jessie has since developed an underground following as an avant-folk musician and multi-faceted artist, playing large festivals and support slots around Europe, reviewed in Rolling Stone Magazine and featured in rotation on Europe and Australia’s leading radio stations (DFK, Triple J, BBC, ABC), as well as twice receiving the MusikInitiativ Künstler:innen förderung Award (2021, 2023). Jessie is in the process of releasing her Sophomore album ‘Mis O’ The Mountains’.
Jack Lyall is a passionate Musical Theatre performer who made his debut as a 9 year old in Love Never Dies where he had the privilege of working alongside the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber. His portrayal of Gustav earned him a nomination for an Australian Broadway World Award, and he also appeared in the production’s DVD and cinema releases.
Following his early success, Jack took on roles in several acclaimed musicals, including Moonshadow with Cat Stevens, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Gypsy, and Pippin, where he collaborated with the renowned Stephen Schwartz. In 2014, he performed as Chip in Beauty and the Beast alongside musical theatre icon Nancy Hayes and later played Louis in The King and I.
Jack honed his craft at Showfit in Brunswick and the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia. Hadestown marks his much-anticipated adult musical theatre debut.
He is proudly represented by Ian White Management and he wishes to dedicate his performance to his parents Stuart and Dionne Lyall for their constant love and support.
Joshua Kobeck is thrilled to be making his theatrical debut in the Australian Premiere of Hadestown! From a young age, Joshua has captivated audiences as a solo artist and with bands throughout the Camden area. His passion for music spans a wide range of genres and styles, reflecting his experiences living around the world.
A proud graduate of the University of Sydney, Joshua has honed his skills as a musical director and refined his vocal abilities under the esteemed guidance of Hanna Hyeronimus, to whom he credits not only his training and development but also a lifelong friendship.
Joshua’s enthusiasm for this groundbreaking production matches his dedication to his art. He extends his heartfelt gratitude to his friends and family, Paris and Abbey for their encouragement and belief, and his parents for their unwavering love and support.
